Pharmacy Residency Program

The Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program at West Anaheim Medical Center builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. During clinical rotations, residents are expected to refine their skills and develop expertise as a drug therapy specialist through provision of patient care services. They will demonstrate proficiency in communication and in educating other health care professionals, patients, students, and the community on drug related topics. They will also demonstrate professional maturity by developing a personal philosophy of practice, monitoring their own performance, and exhibiting commitment to the profession.
