(Anaheim, Calif., Nov. 15, 2013) – West Anaheim Medical Center is proud to announce that one of our long-term employees, Shereal Grain, was recently awarded a “hospital hero” award by the National Health Foundation. This annual event honors those health care professionals who are dedicated to patient care and help to create miracles for their patients.
Shereal was selected as West Anaheim Medical Center’s nominee based on input from department managers, patient feedback and employee responses. Shereal works in the Case Management department as a social worker and discharge planner and goes above and beyond for her patients and our hospital. She has gone out of her way to purchase clothing, shoes, and supplies for the less fortunate patients; she genuinely supports the families through their discharges, is actively engaged in the community, and is a true representation of our mission and values.
This year’s luncheon was the 8th annual ceremony, where they recognized over 30 dedicated health industry employees. Hospitals from all of Southern California gathered at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles to celebrate. The afternoon was a great opportunity to identify, recognize, and reward excellence in the provision of health care at the frontline.
